Absentee Voting is conducted in the Election department of the County Clerk's Office. It can be done by mail or in-person. Persons who apply for an absentee ballot by mail, please send a request to Lee County Clerk, P.O. Box 329, Dixon, IL. 61021. The last day a request for an absentee ballot can be accepted by the Election department is 5 days prior to the election date. This is according to State Statues. A voter may vote an in-person absentee ballot from approximately 28 days before the election until the day prior to the election. To vote by absentee ballot in Illinois a person must be a registered voter and unable to vote in person at the polls on Election day for one of the following reasons:
