SOLID WASTE COMMITTEE

The Solid Waste Committee is a standing committee of the Lee County Board. The committee is responsible for overseeing the activities and budget of the office of Solid Waste Management. The committee is comprised of five members of the Lee County Board. In the event an application is submitted to the county to site a pollution control facility (e.g. landfill, transfer station), the five members of the Solid Waste Committee along with two other members of the County Board will be assigned to the Lee County Pollution Control Facility Committee. This committee will conduct the necessary review and hearings and submit its recommendation to the full County Board.
